I need to replace a leaking accelerator pump diaphragm on a 1982 Ford Motorcraft Model 2150 carburetor. I've found a couple of part numbers for this diaphragm but nothing that my local parts jobber can cross-reference. Does anyone have a "Dorman" or "Ford" part number for this item??? (stem dia. .250" overall length approx. 1.0") 8275182752

CLOSELY check the accelerator pump on any Q-jet. They used the dumbest possible method to incorporate an accelerator pump, so of course it fails on a regular basis. Usually leaking fuel out when compressed, and air back into the chamber when you let up on the pump... This leakage of fuel out is a fire hazard.

That's right, today i removed the cap with these two screws securing it, and used 400 grit sandpaper and sanded it down so it fits flush with the float bowl, looks like it's not leaking anymore but i will test it in the next few days, by the way the squirt-er was clogged and building pressure over the pump, that probably caused the leaking along with warped cap, but i don't know why a brand

It will only pump if outlet side "to carb" is closed off or conected to carb. There is a check valve in the fitting on top of carb! There is a little part located inside of the small fuel line from carb to accel pump. it could be cloged.It's called JET-RECHARGE part # 270500348 it restricts how fast the accel pump can "recharge".
