decomposition of used tyre rubber by pyrolysis:enhancement
Decomposition of Used Tyre Rubber by Pyrolysis
In this study, pyrolysis was selected to thermally decompose used ground waste vulcanized rubber from automobile tyres. This rubber was exposed to the pyrolytic process in an indirectly heated batch reactor at three different temperatures. Three fractions (i.e., gas, liquid and solid) were obtained during the process.

Send InquiryPyrolysis of Scrap Tires | BioEnergy Consult
Pyrolysis of scrap tires offers an environmentally and economically attractive method for transforming waste tires into useful products, heat and electrical energy. Pyrolysis refers to the thermal decomposition of scrap tires either in the absence or lack of oxygen. The principal feedstocks for pyrolysis are pre-treated car, bus or truck tire chips.

The char used as carbon fillers (normally called as carbon black) for reinforcing rubber or improving the performance of bitumen is a more promising application with a high added-value (Feng et al., 2016, Guangjian and Jincheng, 2016). It is more dependent on the carbonization degree other than some specific properties.

Williams and Besler (1995) used thermogravimetric analysis to investigate the thermal decomposition of three samples of tyre of known rubber composition and the three major rubber components of the tyres, styrene–butadiene-rubber, natural rubber and polybutadiene rubber. The thermograms showed two distinct areas of weight loss, with styrene–butadiene rubber decomposing at higher temperature and natural rubber at lower temperature, the polybutadiene rubber decomposed mainly at higher ...
